Mission Statement of the Daniel 11 Steering Committee

  • Whereas interest in end-time events in general and in Daniel 11 (especially the final verses) within its context in Daniel 10-12 in particular is increasing; and
  • Whereas the signs of the times indicate that prophecies of Daniel have neared their complete fulfillment; and
  • Whereas there are several interpretive frameworks currently held by different scholars and evangelists within Adventism; and
  • Whereas there is no scholarly dialogue mechanism currently in place within Adventism to provide a meaningful forum for respectful dialogue, prayer, and the exchange of exegetical insights leading to further understanding;
The mission of the Daniel 11 Steering Committee is to provide a forum for Seventh-day Adventists to engage in deep and honest study of Scripture in accordance with biblical principles of interpretation, accompanied by prayerful and respectful dialogue, characterized by humility and an openness to the leading of the Holy Spirit, to provide as full an understanding of Daniel 11 as God sees fit to open to our understanding.
